The site for this stone, tile-roofed building was bequeathed by Frank Morgan, the cost for its erection being £4,600 which was met by the 27 families living in the district. Bishop Redding dedicated the building on Sunday 15 April 1956. You're welcome!
St Alban's
Marradong & Boddington
1895
Historic cemetery & active local church 7 mins down the road from Boddington. The name 'Marradong' is derived from an aboriginal word meaning 'a burnt log.' The foundation of this stone church was laid by Arthur Batt on 17 April 1894, and Bishop Riley consecrated the edifice on 28 May 1895. It cost ~£300 to erect.
Bush Bro's Op Shop
Agricultural Hall Williams
1898
Not actually a church! After a long search, we finally found the perfect spot for our shop—the charming pre-WWI stone building right on Albany highway. We named it Bush Brothers Op Shop to honour the inspirational work of the Bush Brotherhood of St Boniface. Since opening in Williams in 2011, the shop has become a community favourite.
Our local community has embraced the spirit of giving, generously and continually donating clothes and bric-a-brac. Many people volunteer their time, drop in for a chat, or share a prayer with us. Treasure hunters from Perth to Albany and beyond visit, drawn by the quality items on offer.
